Julia Jenkins Associate

Julia Jenkins brings a background in the labor movement as well as state and federal government experience ranging from political campaigns, legislative issues, and advocacy to The Lew Edwards Group.

Working closely with cities, counties, special districts and schools districts across California, Jenkins has led successful campaigns for Lew Edwards Group clients who include the cities of Seaside, South Gate, and Torrance. She is currently directing efforts for the Westminster School District, the cities of Galt, La Habra, and La Mesa, and the Barstow Fire Protection District.

Jenkins previously served as Legislative Director Public Employee Union Local #1, where she was also a registered California state lobbyist coordinating all political action and legislative policy, political action and campaigns at local, state, and federal levels. In addition to recruiting and training candidates, she focused on building campaigns through grassroots organization.

Prior to her tenure at Local 1, she led efforts for the San Francisco Democratic Party, worked for (now) Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Alliance for a Better California and the Campaign for Teen Safety. She has taught classes on California and American Politics and Scientific Inquiry – SPSS data analysis, and received the Haynes Fellowship for California Studies in 2004.

Julia Jenkins is a graduate of St. Mary’s College of California and is a 2009 Candidate for a Masters in Political Science from San Francisco State University.
